California Derby Galaxy (CDG)

It all started when we weren’t sure what derby was going to look like post pandemic…so we worked with other leagues AND CAME up with: a coalition!

Now… It’s 2026, we’ve got 2 competitive teams, and there’s no stopping us!

What do you mean, “coalition”? GOOD QUESTION. We’ll tell you:

The California Derby Galaxy (CDG) is a coalition of seven WFTDA-ruleset roller derby leagues in the greater Bay Area. The purpose of CDG is to provide diverse and numerous opportunities for roller derby athletes and officials to both train and compete, at a variety of levels and frequencies. CDG also has a commitment to lowering barriers to entry for systemically marginalized participants by providing fiscal relief to enable their participation.

CDG is officially a non-profit and we’ll be doing a lot of fundraising for our equity programs and more. Keep your eyes open for cool updates via IG and participating leagues.
